I had the pleasure to pick Jen Mathison's brain, another hair god, in Vancouver the other day. Let me back up a little bit. I was trained as a makeup artist and eventually learned to do hair in the bridal business. Because I didn't go to a hair school for my hair training (I learned from many talented hair dressers over the years), I find it beneficial to sit with a hair dresser once in a while to really brush up on some basics and non-basics. In our conversation, she talked about covering dark circles and it made me reflected on how for years I struggled to cover my own dark circles. Lots of trial and error experimenting with different products. Some products sucked Big time, some sucked less and it is still a journey. I want to share with you what works for me for now.
The Tarte Creaseless concealer seems to be the best I find. Again, it's different for everyone because some needs massive colour correcting. For those that do not require major colour correcting, give this concealer a try. I actually bought two shades in Sephora that I knew it's either this or that shade. Sometimes, you just have to take it home and try it first so I did. Buying two saved me the dilemma and I can be absolutely sure which one works best and keep it. Afterwards, I returned the other tube. Check out Jen's work here. An amazing person, incredibly talented, and funny. If you don't trust my hair work, definitely go to her. Here's a quick video.
